The Disability Discrimination Act 1995
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 sought to end discrimination against disabled people by giving all people equal rights in the areas of employment and access to goods, facilities and services. From 2004 service providers will have had to make ’reasonable adjustments’ to their premises to overcome physical barriers to access. They may use access audits to assess the current state of their buildings or ongoing access action plans to take a long term view. pcm offer a full range of ’access’ consultancy services aimed at helping clients to understand and implement the requirements of DDA’95.
pcm can help you assess your responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, its latest additions, and its associated Code of Practice. We can also help implement any necessary changes, quickly and cost-effectively. Quite often, you may not need to make any changes at all.
